HEALTH TIP: Switch It Up
The brain is designed to seek novelty. So help your brain out and give it what it wants by switching it up! Today’s #HealthTip is all about leaning into your innate biology. Your brain is built to ignore the old and prioritize the new. Novelty activates your dopamine system and several structures in the brain associated with learning structures. So, novelty tells your brain to pay attention and get motivated! It tells your #brain to get ready to learn something important and therefore helps you to engages deeply in whatever you are doing. If you feel like you are in an exercise rut or stuck in a routine, try something totally new. You’ll be amazed at how time flies and how fun you have.

Here are some ideas to beat the rut!
Change your environment: Do something familiar in a new place. Work in a cafe. Exercise at a new studio. Walk a new route.
Add something new: After doing something routine, add something you haven’t done before. For example, add a new stretch to your after-exercise routine. Add a new spice in your usual chicken recipe.
Do it at a different time or day: Do something routine at a different time or day. If you usually #exercise in the morning, try in the evening (like I did today!). If you usually shop for groceries on Saturday, try on Sunday instead. What’s one new thing you’ll do to switch it up this week?
